In a laser coil cutting system, stainless steel cover strips are cut using a 4-axis laser cut. Various drive components are used for this. The cover strip coils are stored in various sizes in a cassette storage unit. To remove the coils, the cassette storage unit is moved into the correct position via a ball screw drive, depending on the size selected. This movement is guided by an HG profile rail guide. The cover strip is unwound to the previously selected length using feeder technology. The laser, which cuts the contour of the cover strip, is aligned using LMX precision axes with integrated linear motors and profile rail guides. A DMN rotary table ensures correct orientation of the laser head. This allows the cover strip to be cut not only straight, but also with a 3D contour - and all fully automatically.
